Bill is President and founder of TRN Capital, and is a seasoned executive
leader in global strategy and business development across the financial services sector. Prior to forming TRN
Capital in 2008, he was Vice Chairman of State Street Corporation, and President and CEO of State Street Global Advisors
(SSgA), one of the world's largest institutional money managers with USD 1.9 trillion in assets under management.
With over 30 years of experience
in financial services, Bill has spent a significant portion of his career on the international front, living and working
in Asia for 14 years, and traveling extensively to other parts of the world to manage and grow investment management businesses.
Based in Tokyo until 2001, he was CEO of State Street, Japan, responsible for building and managing its asset management,
asset servicing, global markets, and securities lending businesses. Before joining State Street in 1994 as Managing
Director of SSgA, Tokyo, he served as senior investment officer for American International Group Companies, Japan and
Korea, and held various equity research and trading positions with Swiss Bank Corporation International (Asia). He holds a Bachelor of Arts
from Bates College, and a Masters of International Business from the University of South Carolina. In 2009, he was a Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School, Program on International Financial Systems.
In his civic life, Bill is Chairman of the Japan
Society of Boston, former trustee of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and past overseer of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
In May 2019, his Majesty the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government conferred upon him the imperial decoration
of "The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette". He has lived and worked extensively overseas,
and currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
